HeroesCon=AWESOME
Just got back form HeroesCon yesterday and man, I am in the best of moods. Picked up a ton of great art books and sketch books and some gorgeous original pieces for the studio space. I will be throwing some pages up here this week so keep an eye out and (hopefully) I will be maintaing at least one new post a week from here on out...that is...if I don't run out of pages to color. That's all for today. Stay classy.

Alien WIP
An alien race I have been toying with for a possible future project.
20min sketch, 2 hours of playing with paint.

Space, space and more space
So, I'm addicted to doing these lil speed paints of planets and nebula. These are really fun for me and just free up my mind for a little while. Times for these pieces range from 20minutes to 45minutes.

OK...last time you see this damn painting
So here's an absolute final version of this painting. The reason I'm posting it yet again? Well, because it has brightened my day. That, and it was also chosen by my professor to be printed out on some really high quality paper and displayed at school. May be a childish, "oh looky what I did!" situation, but man, it feels good haha! So, for your eyes to see one more time...enjoy :)

Speed Painting and Spacescapes...an added addiction...
So after much saving and studying and reading and gushing over artists like Dylan Cole and Greg Martin, I am timidly stepping into the world of digital painting. I am terrified...BUT that fear is what seems to be driving me lately. Below are my first two digital paintings, outside of the comic coloring realm. I'm my harshest critic, and yet I'm still proud of what I have done. Hopefully in the next few months I can hone in some much needed skill...until then, it's practice, everyday, as much as work/school/life will allow.

Stacking up on flats
So I've kind of been on the hunt for pages to color. From every corner of the vast interwebs I have poked, prodded and salvaged what I can, and to much success. Although none are colored yet (my poor laptop cannot handle the intenseness of digital coloring), many are flatted and ready for some sweet brush strokes and so photoshop magic. Below are just three pin-ups I have ready to go (and very excited to finish!). From left to right: Irene Schrychalski, Plunket and Crain (pencils) and Glapion (inks)

Another post without art to show...sad times.
Sad times indeed, but not for too much longer. I have finally purchased a computer that will allow me to get some real work done, which should lead to a new post each week with lots of digital coloring and painting goodies.
I've also been working (slow and painfully) on revamping this blog to be a lil more..."visually pleasing". So enjoy the new layout and prepare for the new posts. Be sure to check out my pages also (since they have working image links, yay!).

It's been a while...
A happy New Year to all!! With the new year comes changes, and in my case, these changes are coming in strides. I have cautiously stepped into the world of Graphic Design and so far, it's not so bad. Below is a logo and banner I made for a local company, Carolina Armory. I felt good about it and the client loved it, so overall I think a success. If your a gun enthusiast go check out their gear and ACCESSORIZE YOUR WEAPON.
To all my fellow artists, may 2011 bring more success and even greater joy!
